A Multi-Sport Event Balancing Complexity and User Expectations
The Sport Austria Finals bring together 37 sports across multiple venues – an enormous organizational challenge. At the same time, there was an expectation for media visibility and digital reach beyond traditional sports fans. The major challenge was to create a digital solution for an event spanning numerous sports, locations, and target groups – while ensuring the experience remained both intuitive and inspiring.

From Concept to Intuitive App – A Collaboratively Developed Digital Event Experience
In close collaboration with Sport Austria, we took on the complete concept development, UX design, and functional planning of the app. The goal was to create an application that reduces organizational complexity while sparking enthusiasm among users.

The project approach followed a structured and user-centered process:
1. Strategic Foundations: Co-Creative Workshops & UX Conceptualization
- Joint needs assessment with Sport Austria during an on-site workshop in Vienna
- Definition of key use cases: navigation, accreditation, live streaming, gamification
- Creation of initial information architectures and wireframes to visualize user flows
2. Visual Design & User Experience
- Development and evaluation of three design directions – focusing on dynamism, clarity, and bold neon colors
- Design of interactive features: digital scavenger hunt, goodie system, media integration
- Handover of the concept for technical implementation and further development

Thanks to the integration of Sport Pass Austria, over 30 competitions can be live-streamed, and editorial content is prepared daily and made available through the app. - Interactive User Engagement
Gamification elements such as a digital scavenger hunt and exclusive goodies enhance interaction, leading to high user satisfaction and prolonged app usage. - Visibility for Partners & Sponsors
