Data protection information for the registration and participation in HYVE Crowd

This data protection notice informs you about how we handle personal data in the processing of which you have consented by using the registration link for HYVE Crowd and the verification of the registration via a double opt-in.

Description and scope of data processing

On our website we operate a crowdsourcing platform where companies can generate, develop and test innovative ideas, concepts and solutions from creative minds.

In the context of the implementation of innovation communities, we only use data that comes directly and personally from you. This includes, for example, information from your participation in previous Innovation Communities and, if applicable, further information that you give us by entering in your profile yourself.

The following data are collected and processed within the framework of HYVE Crowd:

To identify you personally:

  • Salutation,
  • title,
  • first name,
  • surname,
  • e-mail address,
  • nationality and
  • the type of communities you have participated in.

Data you enter in a form:

  • Age, interests, profession, position
  • Address data: street, house number, postcode, city,
  • Contact details: E-mail address, telephone number, mobile phone number

At the time of registration, the following data will also be stored:

  • profile ID
  • IP address of the user
  • Date and time of registration
  • Date and Time of Double Opt In Agreement
  • Registration status

At the time of logoff:

  • date of deregistration


Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for processing the data after your active registration on the HYVE Crowd Platform is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a DSGVO (consent).

The legal basis for the storage of additional data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO in conjunction with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO i. v. m. Art. 5 para. 2 DSGVO on the verifiability of the given consent.

If you have confirmed your participation in an Innovation Community, the processing of your data serves the fulfilment of a contract to which you are a contracting party. The legal basis for the processing of data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO.

If your data is used for sending information about upcoming projects or direct advertising, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The starting point for the weighing decision to be taken is recital 47 DS-GMO, which explains inter alia: “The processing of personal data for the purposes of direct marketing may be regarded as processing in a legitimate interest.

Purpose of data processing

The purposes of the processing are the initiation and implementation of innovation communities and the associated selection of the invited participants according to their profile.

Other purposes are to send you information about upcoming or future projects and to maintain our relationship with you (usually by e-mail).

Duration of storage

If we do not receive confirmation (consent for further processing) via the registration link for the further use of data stored by us through your participation in earlier innovation contests, your data will be finally deleted or blocked after a period of four weeks after our request for registration addressed to you.

If you withdraw your consent, your personal data will be immediately deleted or blocked. Blocking (restriction of processing) always occurs if legal retention periods prevent deletion.

We may continue to use your contributions to the Innovation Communities in an anonymous form.

Possibility of objection and elimination

You have the right to revoke your consent at any time. The revocation of consent shall not affect the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until revocation. The revocation can be made in the HYVE Crowd Portal via the button “Delete my profile”.
