Abbvie Co-Create Healthcare Forum Co-Create the future of healthcare within the Healthcare Forum
Traditionally, pharmaceutical companies’ research and development stays within the realms of medical and research professionals. Unlike those, AbbVie acts as pioneer by opening up to an external crowd to allow and emphasize truly patient-centric innovations with the help of the CoCreate Healthcare Forum based on the innovation platform of HYVE. The CoCreate Healthcare Forum has a highly vivid and diverse community consisting of patients, healthcare professionals, innovators and others.
Following several successfully conducted contests, the Goal “Reimagining the Hospital Experience of Cancer” intended to co-create ideas for the future of patients, suffering from Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). To help patients enhance their frequent hospital experience on every stage of their patient journey – at-home preparations, hospital treatment and further rehabilitation at home – AbbVie launched the contest on the CoCreate Healthcare Forum.
The multidisciplinary community had seven weeks for submitting, commenting and evaluating ideas in four different categories: service innovation, process innovation, facilities/tools and social/communication innovation. A community of patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, doctors, future enthusiasts, innovators and other creative minds should collaboratively accomplish the final goal of providing a more human treatment for patients. The most promising ideas were evolved into concrete concepts within workshops. Based on these concepts several prototypes were designed and planned for pilot testing phase.
