With their vision to enable a smart and connected life, Intel is going to launch their innovative sensing technology in 2017. The idea behind the sensing technology is simple but impressive and mesmerizing as it remembers a person’s surrounding by hearing and seeing. In addition, it transforms this gained information into data such as pictures, videos and sophisticated analyses. Not only the surrounding but also the own body data can be recognized by this sensing device and displayed by personal preferences.
Even though Intel invented the technology for this future device, they did not decide on application fields yet. Hence, Intel, in cooperation with HYVE, launched a crowdsourcing contest and inviting technophiles and creative minds to share ideas and use cases for the new sensing technology. Intel intended to understand how consumers prefer using this technology in the future and to clarify their possible benefits.
In total, over 400 ideas have been submitted, including detailed visualizations in form of scribbles, pictures, sketches, and videos. Both the experts and the jury were impressed by the diversity of the ideas, which was also reflected in the heterogeneity of the participants. The submitted ideas of more than 1.600 members on the platform, clearly demonstrated numerous ways of implementing the new sensing technology into daily life.
